Who is The SkullMaster?

The SkullMaster, Joey Williams, was raised in the heart of the Bible belt. Joey grew up pushing the envelope of his conservative surroundings. Often the outcast, he turned to art as a means of social escape. His fascination of the natural world lead Joey to incorporate natural elements such as skulls and bones into his art. This chosen medium eventually lead to his moniker as “The SkullMaster.” Joey went on to pursue degrees in both art and biology.

It has been said that a man is the sum of his experiences and Joey's work is witness to this. Expressions of occurrence and views brought to life through fusions of the past and present, life and death, the natural and the unnatural; Joey's work is anything but conventional. His creations are what they are. Do not hold him responsible for what surfaces from the subconscious or how it evolves in the insomniac twilight. All pieces are collaborations of elements, experiences and memories collected during his journeys. Sticks and stones, toys and bones...interpretation is left to the beholder.
